Mazogs port
A downloadable game
Don't be fooled by the primitive graphics, this 1982 ZX81 classic is loads of fun to play and has many ways to play.
The graphics card for RC2014 is capable of much more than the black and white character graphics here, but I've stuck to the original game as closely as possible.
I've used Paul Farrow's disassembly and stuck as closely as possible to the original code. I've added a little bit of colour - the treasure is coloured gold, the eyes of the Mazogs glow a menacing red.
If you don't have the graphics card, it's an open-source project from J B Langston, https://github.com/jblang/TMS9918A
Alternatively I sell assembled and tested modules (complete with the TMS9918A chip) here

This also works with my TMSEMU video module:

Instructions are given on the screen, but you can navigate with WASD or WSHJ. There are three game styles which offer increasing challenges. You can get a view of the map with V. You can get stats at any time with Y, and depending on the game you're playing, you can buy a sword from that screen, but you'll need to be desperate as that will cost you half of your remaining moves!
If you fight a mazog, make sure you have a sword as you'll be sure to win (but lose your sword in the process). If you attack hand-to-hand then you may win but you may lose your life. On the way you'll see prisoners, who will tell you the way to the treasure (or the way home if you've found the treasure) but move quickly because your memory is short and the directions will disappear after about 20s.
